Drag HEIC files in, or click to choose them. Add as many as you like — no daily caps, no batch limits.

2

Convert to JPG locally

Your browser decodes and re-encodes each image on this device. The HEIC engine (a small WebAssembly module) only loads when it's actually needed.

3

About heic to jpg converter

HEIC (.heic) is the format iPhones use by default since iOS 11. It saves roughly half the storage of JPG, but it causes friction everywhere outside Apple's world: many Windows 10/11 PCs can't open it without codec extensions, plenty of websites, forms and print shops reject it, and older software has never heard of it.

Converting HEIC to JPG makes any photo universally readable. This tool does it locally in your browser — your photos are never uploaded to any server, there are no daily caps or file-count limits, and you don't need to install the HEIF/HEVC extensions from the Microsoft Store.

Why convert in your browser

Truly private

Cloud converters upload every photo to their servers. Here, 0 bytes leave your device — there is no upload code path at all.

No installs

No Microsoft Store extensions, no desktop apps, no browser add-ons. Open the page and it just works.

Unlimited batches

Cloud tools cap free use (CloudConvert: 10 per day). Your own device has no such limit — convert a whole camera roll.

No queue

Nothing to upload means nothing to wait for. Large batches start converting immediately, two files at a time.

On Windows and can't even open HEIC files?

You're not alone — plenty of Windows 11 PCs still ship without the HEVC codec, and the Photos app route means exporting one file at a time. Our step-by-step guide covers every method, including the extension-free one this tool gives you.

Frequently asked questions

Does converting HEIC to JPG lose quality?

JPG is a lossy format, so there is a small quality trade-off — usually invisible at quality 90, which is the default here. HEIC itself is also lossy, so you are re-encoding once. If you need a pixel-perfect copy instead, convert HEIC to PNG, which is lossless.

Why are my iPhone photos HEIC instead of JPG?

Since iOS 11, Apple saves camera photos as HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) to halve storage use. iPhones automatically convert to JPG when sharing via some apps — but not all, which is why contacts on Windows or Android keep receiving files they can't open. You can also set Settings → Camera → Formats → "Most Compatible" to shoot JPG directly.

How do I convert HEIC to JPG on Windows 10 or 11?

The usual route is installing the HEIF and HEVC extensions from the Microsoft Store (the HEVC one sometimes costs $0.99) and exporting one file at a time in the Photos app. With this page you skip all of that: open it in Chrome or Edge, drop your HEIC files, convert, download — no extensions and no per-file clicking.

Can I batch convert HEIC to JPG for free?

Yes — select or drop as many files as you want, then hit Convert. Cloud converters typically limit free batches (CloudConvert allows 10 conversions per day; many others cap at 200 files or push paid desktop software). Because this tool runs on your own device, batching is genuinely unlimited.

What is the maximum file size?

50 MB per image, which covers full-resolution iPhone photos many times over. There is no limit on the number of files.

Are my photos uploaded to a server?

No — zero bytes are uploaded. Conversion runs entirely inside your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. There is no upload code path at all: you can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it still works.

Is there a limit on how many images I can convert?

No. Unlike cloud converters that cap you at 10–25 conversions per day or 200 files per batch, this tool converts as many files as you like, because your own device does the work.

Does it work on Windows, Mac, iPhone and Android?

Yes — any modern browser works (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari). It is especially handy on Windows, where opening HEIC files normally requires codec extensions from the Microsoft Store.
